Handmade and decorated vintage sickle from northern Afghanistan.
The handle of the sickle has been decorated with metal applications, decorative nails and a small bell.
In traditional Afghan tribes, each man of the tribe makes his own sickle and is decorating it by using his own (often family related) patterns. Therefore each sickle is different and a personal work of art!
This sickle is a vintage piece of folk art, which is typical for the Nuristan province.
Attention: the blade is still sharp!
