A patoo (also written patu) is a large shoulder cloth/shawl in pure wool from the Swat region, in the high mountains between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
In Afghanistan, a patoo is traditionally worn by men, but because of the superior quality and the special cozy feeling of a patoo, women are also discovering its pleasures.
A patoo was originally intended as a garment, but it can be used for many purposes: as a shawl or poncho, as a blanket on cold nights, as a picnic blanket in the summer, as a replacement for a jacket, to swaddle a baby, etc. Watching TV wrapped in your patoo is very recommended!
