The front of the waistcoat is fully covered with traditional embroidery in Oriental patterns. The inside of some embroidered patterns is set with mirrorwork.
The back of the waistcoat is made of plain black velvet.
Inside, the waistcoat is lined with black satin-like fabric.
The waistcoat does not have buttons, but it is worn hanging open.
