Boiled wool is a woven or knitted fabric that has been shrunk and thickened by heating/boiling water. This process is also called felting. After the wool has been boiled, it is dried by heat and steam. Due to the cooking process, the fibers of the wool become more dens so that the fabric will block cold wind.
Boiled wool has a warm and rich appearance and the wool will not give an itchy feeling due to the cooking process.
The shawls have beautiful Oriental, paisley and floral designs. In addition, some of these motifs are extra highlighted by embroidering their outline.
Each shawl is made by hand and each one will therefore be different in terms of colors, motifs and embroidery. Each shawl is a unique piece of art!
These shawls consist of a triple layer of fine boiled wool fabric, which afterwards have been embroidered by hand.
