A kedia is a kind of combination of jacket and shirt and is traditionally worn by Rabari men. Here in Europe, mostly women wear a kedia.

The Rabari people live in the area of Kutch and Gujarat in India. They are a nomadic tribe; herding cattle, sheep and goats are their main source of income and is done by men. Rabari women are making the famous hand-woven shawls, amazing jewelry and stylish clothing.

The kedia is made of fine and soft fabric which is soft to the skin, composed by mixing different kinds of fibres. The kedia is decorated with fine embroidery.

The sleeves from a kedia are longer than what is usual here in Europe, because traditionally the sleeves are worn rolled up!

This kedia has a small pocket and can be closed by tying the binding straps

The kedia is ready for wearing or it can be used as an eye-catching object in an exotic interior decor.

This is a vintage garment of about 50 years old and is carrying light signs of its previous life. There are 2 tiny burn holes (see pictures), probably from a camp fire. The marks can easily be repaired.

Finding an authentic 1970's kedia jacket in this almost perfect state is rare!

Before ordering, please check the sizing of this kedia with your sizes.

This item is on sale due to 2 tiny burn marks - see last picture.
