A dupatta is a shawl-like scarf, traditionally and since many centuries worn by women from India and surroundings.

A dupatta can be worn as shawl, but u can also be used to cover the head or face, as sign of humbleness or to find protection from the burning sun.

In modern society, a dupatta is mostly used as accessory when wearing traditional clothing.

This dupatta is made of mousseline/muslin fabric. This is very finely woven fabric made of cotton, and which has been in high demand in the Arabic and Indian cultures since the early middle ages.

Mousseline is also called Dhaka fabric or Mosul fabric or muslin fabric.

All along the edges, the dupatta shawl has colorful embroidery.

These shawls are on sale as they are handwoven and have tiny imperfections.
